Zones 27 & 28 started a Mentor Program last year for the class of 2006-07 District Governors, which has had some very positive results. Our program is based on the success of a similar program that has been conducted by Zone 22 in Canada over the past few years. The overall objective of the Mentor Program is to provide a Governor Elect with a Past Governor resource person from a different District with whom they can discuss the DGE’s vision, plan, and emerging issues. Experience with the program has shown the Mentor’s own District can also benefit from information gained as to the strategies, practices, and results of another District. The relationship which starts when someone becomes a DGE is intended to continue forward to their year as Governor and beyond. Dick Galitz. PDG - Coordinator |
